Consultation & preventative care
- First consultation A first consultation is a full appointment with one of our vets, for a pet we have not met before or for a problem that is new. We examine your pet from nose to tail, listen to what you have noticed at home, and agree with you what should happen next. From £68.25
- Repeat consultation A repeat consultation is a shorter follow-up for a problem we are already treating. It is the appointment for checking whether treatment is working, adjusting a dose, or taking the next step in a plan we have already agreed. From £47.25
- Out-of-hours consultation An out-of-hours consultation is an emergency appointment outside normal opening times – evenings, overnight, weekends and bank holidays. If you think your pet needs to be seen now, ring us. Do not wait to see how they are in the morning. From £183.75
- Nurse consultation A nurse consultation is an appointment with one of our registered veterinary nurses. Nurses run the practical, hands-on side of care – weight checks, post-operative checks, nail and anal gland work, dressing changes and advice on getting medication into a difficult patient. From £26.25
- Nail clipping From £18.90
- Anal gland expression From £29.40
- Microchipping From £26.25
- Animal health certificate An animal health certificate is the document your pet needs to travel from Great Britain to the EU or Northern Ireland. It has to be issued by an Official Veterinarian within 10 days of travel, and the groundwork – microchip and rabies vaccination – has to be done well before that. From £204.75
- Vaccinations primary course (including consultation) A primary course is the first set of vaccinations a puppy, kitten or young rabbit needs, given as two or three injections a few weeks apart. The price includes the consultation, so the vet examines your pet properly at each visit. From £78.75
- Vaccinations booster (including consultation) A booster keeps your pet’s protection topped up after their primary course. It includes a full health check with the vet, which for a lot of pets is the one time a year someone examines them properly from nose to tail. From £63.00
- Vaccination for kennel cough (including consultation) Kennel cough vaccination protects dogs against one of the main causes of the infectious cough that spreads wherever dogs mix. It is given as a liquid squirted into the nose rather than as an injection, and most kennels insist on it. From £57.75
Prescription, dispensing & administration
- Prescription fee A prescription fee covers writing a prescription so you can buy your pet’s medication somewhere else, usually an online pharmacy. You are entitled to ask for one, and for some long-term medications it can save you money. From £23.10
- Prescription fee for additional items prescribed at the same time as another medication This is the reduced fee for each additional item prescribed at the same time as another medication. If your pet needs two or three things written up in one go, only the first is charged at the full rate. From £10.50
- Prescription fee (repeat) A repeat prescription fee covers re-issuing medication your pet is already established on. It still needs a vet to check the notes and confirm the medicine, dose and quantity remain right before it is signed. From £15.75
- Dispensing fee A dispensing fee covers supplying medication directly from our pharmacy – checking the prescription, counting out and labelling the right quantity, and going through how to give it. It is charged when we supply the medicine rather than writing a prescription for elsewhere. From £8.40
- Medicine administration fee - injections under the skin or into the muscle This is the fee for giving an injection under the skin or into the muscle – the administration itself, separate from the cost of the medicine. It covers the nurse or vet calculating the dose, giving it safely and checking your pet afterwards. From £12.60
- Insurance administration fees From £31.50
Surgeries & treatments
- Dental assessment (initial examination of mouth, scale and polish) A dental assessment is a proper examination of your pet’s mouth under anaesthetic, with a scale and polish. Dental disease is the most common thing we find in adult pets, and it is painful long before most owners notice anything wrong. From £309.75
- Castration Castration is the surgical removal of the testicles, done under general anaesthetic. It prevents unwanted litters, removes the risk of testicular cancer, and settles some hormone-driven behaviour such as roaming and marking. From £115.50
- Spay (traditional/open) A traditional spay removes the ovaries, and usually the uterus, through an incision in the abdomen under general anaesthetic. It prevents litters and seasons, and removes the risk of pyometra – a womb infection that is common, expensive and can be fatal. From £140.00
- Spay (laparoscopic/keyhole) A keyhole spay removes the ovaries through two or three small incisions using a camera and specialised instruments, instead of one larger abdominal incision. Recovery is generally quicker and more comfortable. It is offered for dogs. From £595.00
- Physiotherapy session From £55.00
- Laser therapy session From £40.00
Diagnostics & laboratory tests
- X-ray (including sedation/general anaesthesia and three images) From £345.00
- Ultrasound (abdominal, single organ) From £280.00
- Ultrasound (echocardiogram) From £395.00
- Cytology test (ear swab) From £38.00
- Cytology (fine needle aspiration) From £95.00
- Basic urine screen (including urine dipstick and measurement of specific gravity) From £35.00
- CT scan per body part (including general anaesthetic and images) From £1,150.00
- MRI scan per body part (including general anaesthetic and images) From £1,600.00
- Pre-surgical/pre-anaesthetic blood test From £85.00
End-of-life care
- Euthanasia Putting your pet to sleep is the hardest decision you will make for them, and the kindest thing we can offer when their quality of life has gone. We will give you the time, the honesty and the quiet you need, and we will talk it through with you before anything happens. From £140.00
- Cremation: communal With communal cremation your pet is cremated alongside other pets and the ashes are not returned. It is the option most people choose when they would rather remember their pet in another way, and it is the less expensive of the two. From £60.00
- Cremation: individual With individual cremation your pet is cremated on their own and their ashes are returned to you, usually in a casket or scatter tube. It costs more than communal cremation, and for a lot of people it is worth it. From £150.00
